Install FlowBeam on Your Device

FlowBeam is a Progressive Web App (PWA). That means you can install it directly from your browser — no App Store or Play Store visit needed. It works on phones, tablets, and computers just like a regular app.

What is a PWA? A Progressive Web App is a website that can be “installed” on your device. Once installed, it appears on your home screen (or taskbar/dock), opens in its own window without browser bars, works offline for cached pages, and can send you notifications — just like an app you'd download from a store.

Installation Instructions

iPhone & iPad (Safari)

  1. Open Safari and go to flowbeam.app (or wherever you access FlowBeam).
  2. Tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen (the square with an upward arrow).
  3. Scroll down the share sheet and tap “Add to Home Screen”.
  4. Give it a name (or keep the default “FlowBeam”) and tap Add.
  5. That's it! FlowBeam now appears on your home screen as a regular app icon.
Tip: You must use Safari on iOS — Chrome and other browsers on iPhone/iPad don't support the “Add to Home Screen” feature for PWAs.

Android (Chrome)

  1. Open Chrome and go to FlowBeam.
  2. You may see a banner at the bottom saying “Add FlowBeam to Home screen” — tap it and you're done!
  3. If no banner appears, tap the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top-right corner.
  4. Tap “Add to Home screen” or “Install app”.
  5. Confirm by tapping Install. FlowBeam will appear in your app drawer and home screen.
Tip: On Samsung phones, the option may be called “Add page to” → “Home screen” in Samsung Internet.

Windows & Mac (Chrome or Edge)

  1. Open Chrome or Microsoft Edge and go to FlowBeam.
  2. Look for the install icon in the address bar — it looks like a monitor with a download arrow, or a + icon inside a circle.
  3. Click it and confirm Install. FlowBeam will open in its own window.
  4. Alternatively, click the three-dot menu (⋮) → “Install FlowBeam” or “Apps” → “Install this site as an app”.
Tip: On Mac, the installed app appears in your Applications folder and can be pinned to the Dock. On Windows, it appears in the Start menu.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is FlowBeam available on the App Store or Google Play?

Not yet — FlowBeam is currently available as a PWA only. The good news is that PWAs offer the same experience as native apps: home screen icon, offline support, full-screen mode, and push notifications. No download or update hassle.

Does it work offline?

Partially. Previously visited pages may load from cache even without internet, but most features require an active connection. For the best experience, stay connected so your data stays up to date and syncs across devices in real time.

Will I get notifications?

PWAs support push notifications on Android and desktop. iOS 16.4 and later also support push notifications for installed PWAs. When you install FlowBeam, you'll be prompted to allow notifications for timer alerts, streak reminders, and more.

How do I update the app?

Updates happen automatically! Every time you open FlowBeam, it checks for the latest version in the background. No manual updating required — you always get the freshest features without doing anything.

How do I uninstall?

Same way you'd remove any app. On iOS, long-press the icon and tap “Remove App”. On Android, long-press and drag to “Uninstall”. On desktop, right-click the app in your taskbar or Dock and choose “Uninstall”.

Does my data stay if I uninstall?

Yes! All your data lives securely in the cloud. If you uninstall and reinstall FlowBeam, just sign in with the same account and everything will be exactly as you left it.
