FlowBeam's calendar isn't just another schedule viewer. It layers cultural holidays, lunar phases, and external calendars on top of your events — so you can plan with awareness and protect your deep work time. This guide shows you how.
Open the Calendar
The Calendar lives under "Plan & Organize" in the navigation. Open it to see your monthly view with all your events laid out. The calendar supports month, week, and day views — switch between them with the toggle at the top. You'll notice the source legend at the bottom that colour-codes events by origin.

Three views. Month view is great for planning, week view for scheduling focus blocks, and day view for seeing exactly what's ahead. Switch with the buttons at the top.

The week view shows your schedule in a more detailed layout, making it easy to spot gaps for deep work. Day view drills down to a single day with full event details. Use the navigation arrows to move between weeks or days, and the "Today" button to jump back to the current date.

Add Cultural Overlays
This is where FlowBeam's calendar gets special. Tap the overlay settings to add cultural calendars — Chinese/Lunar, Vietnamese, Islamic, Jewish, Hindu, and more. These appear as subtle overlays on your calendar, showing holidays and observances from multiple traditions. Perfect for multicultural teams or anyone who observes multiple cultural calendars.

With overlays enabled, cultural events appear directly on your calendar as coloured badges. Hover or tap an event to see details — what the holiday is, which cultural calendar it belongs to, and whether it's a major or minor observance. The lunar phase indicator also shows the current moon phase for lunar-aware planning.

Protect Your Focus Time
The Productivity Hub's context bar uses your calendar data to suggest optimal focus times. When your calendar shows a clear schedule ahead, FlowBeam prompts you: "No upcoming events — clear schedule!" with a suggestion to start a deep focus session. This integration means your calendar awareness feeds directly into your focus workflow.
